When the Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist Louis Cole isn’t making https://youtu.be/RhllQAiEQlM">tongue-in-cheek music videos, he’s probably on tour flaunting his postmodern jazz-rock project, Knower.
A few months back, he assembled a big band of all-star jazz talent at Public Arts in Lower Manhattan. (It sold out instantly.) Luckily, this project comes to life again on Saturday, Aug. 4, at the 2018 Newport Jazz Festival.
Cole also works in a more small-scale experimental fashion: last spring, he performed as part of our Checkout Live at Berklee College of Music concert series. He played drums, synthesizers and vocals alongside one of Berklee’s most buzzworthy young talents, the 17-year old keyboardist Domi Degalle, who hails from Paris.
Watch their entertaining collaboration onstage at Cafe 939’s Red Room.
