Awilda Rivera

Host, Evening Jazz and Latin Jazz Cruise

New York native, Awilda Rivera began her broadcasting career at WBGO in 1993. Spending the next 6 years subbing in various day parts and also hosting weekend shows of her own...Sunday Morning Harmony, Latin Jazz Cruise and Weekend Jazz After Hours. During that same period, she was employed full-time at Greenwich House Settlement in New York City in the agency's drug rehab component. She retired from Greenwich House in 1998 after 20 years of service. The following year...the summer of 1999, Awilda became the full-time Evening Jazz host, Monday to Friday. In addition to hosting her nightly show, she continues to host the weekly Latin Jazz program.

Rivera has also done extensive voiceover work independently and for WBGO. In 2012 - 2014, Awilda hosted inflight jazz and smooth jazz programs for China and Oman Airlines.
