This year's International Association of Jazz Education Conference promises great excitement, and WBGO will bring you all the comings and goings live from the floor of the world's biggest jazz convention.

It all starts at 6am on Wednesday, January 10th, as over 7,000 musicians, historians, educators and journalists converge in New York City for three days of clinics, live performances, panel discussions and of course, the NEA Jazz Masters.

From Morning Jazz with Gary Walker at 6 am on Wednesday, January 10th, straight through Evening Jazz with Awilda Rivera ending at 11 pm, WBGO will bring you all the conference action live from the floor of the Hilton Hotel & Conference Center in midtown Manhattan. WBGO hosts Gary Walker, Rhonda Hamilton, Michael Bourne and Awilda Rivera will hold on-the-spot interviews and feature music by the 2006 NEA Jazz Masters, some of whom will sit down for half hour interviews with WBGO during the conference.

Also offered by WBGO from this year's IAJE Conference are a series of podcasts recorded from panel discussions held during the conference. The topics to be highlighted are ECM Sound and Vision, Jazz Times' panel on Producing Miles Davis, Jazz in Space and Eddie Palmieri - Ned Sublette. These panel discussions are closed to the general public, and usually only made available to conference attendees.
