Free Gallery Reception on Thursday, March 27th
6pm - 8pm

As part of Black History Month and Women's Appreciation Month, we are presenting two exhibits at the WBGO Gallery.

Mr. Ralph Hunter of the African American Heritage Museum of Southern New Jersey presents Sisters in Jazz. It is an impressive collection of classic album cover artwork of icons like Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughan and Nancy Wilson. Hunter began collecting African-American cultural, artistic and media items over the course of 30 years that he eventually used to start the AAH Museum. Once Hunter stated his intention to memorialize the work of America's jazz greats, his collection began to grow, with donations of albums to the museum and the vinyl collection continues to increase.

This forty-piece exhibit represents a mere fraction of a collection of 1,700 albums.

Photographer Bill May contributes African American Legends. Ossie Davis, Romare Bearden, Carmen McRae and many others are profiled in this expansive photographic array of African American legends.

Join us for refreshments, entertainment and discussion with the contributors at our Gallery Reception in the WBGO studio, Thursday, March 27th from 6 - 8 pm.

It's free and open to the public.

Special thanks to our sponsors Turning Leaf Vineyards, E&J Distilleries and Creole Resturant in Harlem, New York.
