Get the best seats in the house for this living jazz legend, and then hang with WBGO's Michael Bourne and the band afterwards at NJPAC's Theatre Square Grill. It's another great WBGO Members Night at NJPAC, Friday, April 18 and we want you to join us.
Eldar
Pianist and composer Dave Brubeck was the first jazz artist to earn a gold record (for his 1959 Time Out and its classic single, "Take Five") and grace the cover of Time Magazine. Throughout his career, he's been known for his distinctive harmonic approach and for the dazzling improvisation of his live performances. "Brubeck's is some of the strangest and loveliest music ever played since jazz was born," says Time. For this performance, Brubeck and company welcome special guest Eldar, a 19-year-old prodigy who's earning raves for his astounding dexterity at the keyboard and for his preternaturally sophisticated approach. On his most recent CD, Live at the Blue Note, Eldar takes on a collection of original songs as well as classic numbers by Cole Porter, Billy Strayhorn, Thelonious Monk, and more. "This is a truly virtuosic musical prodigy," says The Los Angeles Times.
$75 gets you a ticket to the whole event. But don't be sold out, WBGO has a limited number of seats for this Members-Only Night. Call 973-643-4300 right now, and make your plans to be with us.
